I can't beleive no one mentioned this before. RS6 has some maps to be
released "soon" and nothing so far for PGR2 (and it really is losing its
life online, people I see playing it alot - are not on or are on other
games now).

Xbox Live 3.0 is coming out - and I am sure that MS will want some new DC
to go with advertising for it. Live 3.0- won't be as great if it doesn't
have any content to go along with it.

Fear not - isn't 3.0 coming on the 24th. At planed Live downtime is set
for the 24th so it makes sense I think.

DC better be nice though.

DLC for PGR2 is coming 'soon' but no date has been made public. The
closest to a date is that it will be coming out in "Spring". Which in the
northern hemisphere means anything up to June 20th.

The best source for any information is straight from the horses mouth
at the Bizarre Creations Forums:

To save you trawling through that long thread, the latest official
statement from BC devs is as follows (posted April 15th):

"
It's getting quite close to a time when I can start telling you things,
but basically we've got some legalities to deal with and a whole other
bunch of red tape to cut through.

I'll keep you posted.

As for it losing its life on Live, that's a personal opinion. I love
the game and play it as much as have since day 1 (although having
compelted KWS and Arcade mode i've switched my attention to Time Attack,
Weekly/Monthly/All-Ghost challenges and general challenges that are
posted in the Offline Racers forum provided by Bizarre Creations) and,
of course, Live play.

I've also created a site to get lap times for every Car/Track combination
(currently have 17% of the 9384 combinations) which has quite a few
people contributing.

I'm not tired of the game at all, DLC will be a bonus but I'm not in a
rush to get it. There is so much fun to be had playing on rarely used
tracks and with the other cars (not just Ultimates on KGB, St Basils or
Downtown Short). I've put 57 out of 102 cars around the 'Ring, and even
have some cars that have less than 10 miles on the odometer.

If some people are bored with 102 cars and 92 tracks then I'm not sure
how long anything released as DLC will keep them interested. The game
has been out for 5 months, if (pure speculation here) 10 cars and 5
tracks are released then that'd work out at roughly 3 weeks more 'life'
at the same rate.

With the US release of TOCA RD2 (and UK at the end of this week) the
number of PGR 2 players on Live has dropped as you would expect. When
RSC 2 is released it will drop more.

In my opinion the die hard PGR 2 fans (like myself) will continue to
play the game and I'm not sure this will make Live a worse place to
play. Sure I'll be giving TOCA a go and if it's a more enjoyable
experience then I'll continue to play it, but that doesn't mean that
I'll never play PGR 2 again.

Live may even become a better place. Instead of people who purely race
only Ultimates, or relatively inexperienced players who cause a
horrible pileup at the first corner, Live will be populated by a greater
percentage of experienced players who like clean racing, in varied cars
on varied tracks. There will be less prepubescent kids screaming into
the mike and shouting abuse: "you cheat, the Saleen isn't that fast."
and hopefully less "I want to play Cat & Mouse, racing is dull".

Ta,
