Onscreen Messages in Live

Is there a way to stop or relocate the messages that appear in a Live
game while racing ? When someone leaves or joins the game, the
messages cover up a large area of the screen, including much of the
track ahead; generally causing me to smack full tilt into a railing
(that's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it).

I use that excuse, too. Frequently.

I don't have an answer, but am reserving a slot in the chorus.

Not only would I like to reduce/move the join/left notifications, I'd like
to be able to determine how many player names I see. Nothing like whaling
into Turn 1, with seven cars (and NAMES!) in front of you to totally obscure
the view. Sigh.

Try playing split-screen... this is even more of a pain then!
